Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was a kid she was enrolled in her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma had a dream to be a professional actress when she was just at the age of six. She attended Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting institute with part-time courses. When she was ten, she had appeared and played the lead in various Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. The casting process began in 1999 for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was found by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe that they had all been through 8 consecutive auditions. Emma's screen debut was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's release in the year 2001. The film was also the film that was most popular in 2001. Opening weekday and weekend sales were record-breaking. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film as well as the performance by three young actors. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her excellent performance. Emma received five awards for her performance in the film.
