Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew growing up in Mexico in a family who was passionate about music. When she was a kid, she listened to a lot of classical music and older boleros. In addition, she was a fan of traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana loves tangos as well the dramatic and opera performances. When she was 16 years old, she began to sing and study music with her mum. Flavio, a Mexican famous tenor, started giving her a more intensive singing instruction. In Guadalajara she studied at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara and then in Toluca at Toluca at the School of Sacred Music. The singer performed in Guadalajara, Mexico City and other cities as a young scholar and professional. Following her move into America, United States, she performed in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2002 she moved to southern California. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and frequently performs solo with traditional Latin American music at private events. Her passion for singing, music and the arts keeps active in community projects both as an artist and educator. Ana has been a member of Community Chorus of Redlands (as being a member of the Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana hopes that by sharing her knowledge of Latin American traditional songs, to instill a passion, particularly in the younger generations, for keeping this music in the present.
